A traversing exploration through the world of four women who are inmates at Alabama's only female prison, Julia Tutwiler prison, and how one project, Storybook, can help ease their struggle and bridge a connection to them and their children. For these women Storybook starts as a way of communicating with their children and then expands into an emotional experience whereby they can still be a part of the lives of the children they've been separated from. 'Just because you're in prison, doesn't stop you from being a mother.' A true and resounding statement that embodies the entirety of the documentaries theme.
