This short documentary chronicles a family tradition that's been taking place every Easter Sunday since 1823 in Carter County Tennessee. The Peters Hollow Easter Egg Fight is second oldest sporting event in the state. The tradition began with a friendly challenge between the Peters and the Taylors to determine who's chickens laid the hardest eggs. This isn't an egg fight as one might imagine. Instead it's an egg tapping contest for all ages. Contestants bring their hardest eggs to the meeting place in Peters Hollow each year. At the end of the day, one egg remains the hardest.Interviews, archived footage, and recent video of the annual event tell the story of this quirky piece of Appalachian culture from the perspective of the participants.
